About the Job:
IBM seeks to hire a Watson Cognitive Technical Lead for the European Cognitive Solutions Delivery Team. The Watson Delivery Technical Lead is part of the delivery team reporting to the Solution Architect and responsible for the implementation of the deliverables of customer solution using IBM’s Watson portfolio. The role is a customer facing position owning the client technical relationship with relation to services, and is responsible for contributing to the SOW development on behalf of the Watson Implementations Services Organization.The delivery technical program manager is also responsible for exploring and driving process improvement and initiate functional strategy projects across the EMEA team to accomplish goals with long lasting impacts. This position is responsible for managing professional services readiness for Watson products in EMEA. This includes the creation, management and promotion of Watson's implementation offerings and methodologies, as well as Implementations team preparedness for new and existing Watson products. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in engaging with internal and client organizations and be able to apply services delivery experience to the Watson initiatives that they manage. He or she will be able to manage an overall program vertical, which includes sales, offering management, and core delivery alignment. The candidate will have outstanding communication skills and be able to define and meet quarterly plans.
The candidate will represent EMEA Cognitive Solutions Delivery Team in the IBM community and demonstrate thought leadership. The candidate will be self-directed and creative in identifying solutions and building informal teams to achieve results. The program manager is expected to work across the organization to identify synergies and drive cross team initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide technical program management for a Watson program, which may include Watson Explorer, Watson Knowledge Studio, Industry Solutions, Watson Engagement Advisor, or other offerings.• Lead new Watson product developments for Watson Delivery EMEA
• Expected to collaborate with sellers to highlight the value of Watson to potential clients
• Partner with the Delivery Engagement Manager to make sure the project is delivered according to the SOW signed and bringing the business value expected
• Work with other units of IBM to ensure that the Delivery is successful and aligned with IBM objectives
• Responsible for the technical proficiency of the delivery team to ensure client satisfaction
• Create and manage services offerings, methodologies, enablement plans and events, and other management needs to effectively launch services programs.
• Provide guidance on the high level view of the solution based on Watson Portfolio
• Develop work practices and systems that enable sustainable, profitable client engagement and serve as point-of-contact and initiator for collaborative efforts between Implementations, Sales, Marketing, Offering Management, Development, Enablement and other IBM functions.
• Engage in professional growth and development opportunities to keep abreast of emerging Watson trends.
• Represent services in the Offering Team and Offering Management Operating Model.
• Advise senior leadership on recommendations for improved services sales and delivery to our clients. Advise decision teams on impacts of plans and remediation of risks.
• Manage a 30/60/90-day plan for delivery of agreed business results.
• Drive enhancements through improved process design and management
• Identify/ develop metrics to best manage the organization
Job Requirements
• Experience in working with Watson Services or related Cognitive Disciplines through new product development plans & strategy, create new offerings and SOW creation, and team enablement planning expertise• Prior experience in showcasing the potential of Watson technology to clients and business impacts to their organization.
• Excellent business management skills in order to discover and convey business value to client during Delivery phase. Experience working on Cognitive Value Assessments for clients in Watson group (CVAs) preferred
• Responsible for managing, and working with Delivery engagement manager for all activities on a delivery engagement
• Candidate must have strong client management skills, demonstrated executive – level communication skills, and having worked in complex client engagements. Candidates that have undergone formal sales training and project management classes preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills. Ability to own, manage and implement programs, manage time and responsibilities effectively and drive programs to successful completion.
• Identify Business Partners who can collaborate in the delivery of the project, assessing the technical expertise of their resources. Prior experience in working with IBM Watson Business Partners is preferred.
• Work with other units of IBM to ensure that the delivery is successful and aligned with IBM objectives. Prior experience in working with cross functional teams at Watson in USA such as offering management, Services team, Development team preferred to drive initiatives in EMEA and understand product roadmaps.
• Accountable to guide the technical lead and solution architect to ensure the quality of the deliverables on time
