Job details

Lloyds Banking Group has in excess of 20,000 production servers across all platforms with associated infrastructure applications, database and business applications. These require monitoring to avoid incidents and down time to ensure everything from our ATMs to our online customer services are working and running smoothly.

We have a high-performing and motivated team in Enterprise Monitoring & Alerting tasked with platform and application availability and Performance monitoring, utilising automation, enrichment and correlation of events and manual tasks prior to escalating to the 24X7 Operations Team.

They maintain the monitoring and alerting applications and toolsets used by incident management and 24/7 teams, providing the dashboards that prompt call outs for platform/service teams and engineers. They also get heavily involved in customer experience monitoring with Digital Banking being a key customer to look at increasing performance for key customer journeys and critical business processes.

Their role matters.

With some heavy investment into new technologies underway over the next three years in areas such as dynamic thresholding, predictive monitoring and end-to-end business transaction tracking / application performance monitoring, there's a genuine opportunity to learn new technologies as well as move around and learn other aspects of the function.

We’ll need you to be highly technical and experienced in the use of IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM6), Omnibus and Impact or HP OMiv10 toolsets as we’re looking at their integration with our existing and new Monitoring, Service Management, Datacentre and Inventory capability.

Any additional skills you possess with HP Business Service Monitoring Products - specifically BSMv9, RUM, BPM, SHA, uCMDB, HP Universal Discovery, HPOO and Dynatrace would also be really useful (but not essential).

As you’ll be working across multiple platforms (Windows/VMWare/Linux) PERL scripting and any other scripting languages (VB, VUgen, MySQL and HTML) would be of use.

You’ll be able to demonstrate the technical skills and systems knowledge needed within an operational role in Design, Installation, Configuration and Support of these Toolsets and services.

We’ll enable you to thrive in an environment where the scale of our challenge is both huge and exciting, where you’ll get to see many of the latest technologies and use them to implement effective business monitoring solutions.

You'll also enjoy our total commitment to your ongoing personal and professional development. Making you feel valued is important, so we’re also one of the first major employers to offer flexible working to all its employees - we understand the importance of good work/life balance.

Additionally we’ll offer you a competitive salary, a performance-related bonus, a flexible benefits system to suit your lifestyle, generous contributory pension scheme and wider colleague benefits from private health to colleague products and share schemes.

So, if you have the skills we’re seeking and deepening your Monitoring skills with us appeals then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
