About the Job:
The Role
As Sous Chef your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring that correct portion control and amount of “Mis-en-place” are prepared and set up for service to minimise wastage and encourage creative thinking
* Making sure that all prepared foods are labelled, dated and food stocks rotated, kept in legal, hygienic conditions in conjunction with the Executive Head Chef
* Assisting in ensuring good kitchen planning with necessary equipment and that the Kitchen is adequately staffed
* Duty rosters and delegating staff duties to include coverage for holidays, sickness and absenteeism in the absence of the Executive Head Chef
* Promoting and maintaining a good working environment within the department and good relationships with all other hotel departments
* Maintaining regular food stock control and checking measures, rotation and daily checks on food quality in stock and availability of products required, ensuring all menu items are properly prepared using correct recipes, methods of preparation and presentation
The Person
The ideal candidate for this Sous Chef role will have / be:
* Previous experience working in a Rosetted kitchen (advantageous)
* Able to work under pressure
* Passion for innovative and exciting menus
* A good problem solver, ready to come up with on the spot solutions for problems which may occur in the kitchen
Salary and Hours
For the role of Sous Chef there is a salary on offer from £23,000 per annum depending upon experience, and you will work 45 to 48 hours per week over 5 straight shifts.
You will also receive:
