Software Engineer (X4)
Up to £45,000 + benefits
London City Centre
My market leading not for profit client are currently recruiting for a number of Software Engineers to join their growing team in London centre. The organisation is currently in process of multiple interesting projects including working with big data and would suit somebody with a keen interest in this field. You will be reporting into the Application Integration Lead, building relationships with the wider business and 3rd parties to ensure successful deliver and implementation of the computing services.
You will provide support, developing software solutions for specific Research groups and hold responsibility for managing development projects including code releases and testing. Other duties will include:
*Writing, testing & reviewing code; modifying medium / complex code to develop medium to highly complex application code independently, testing & fixing defects;
*Contribute to other code reviews, scheduling and presenting own code specifications and logic;
*Contribute to other research activities, software development documentation, training and tutorials.
To be considered for the position, you muct have the following skills and competencies:
*Programming skills and experience in C / C++, Java
*Debugging experience in scripting language for prototyping, preferably Python
*Experience with GitHub, Travis-CI, Jenkins, JIR, Confluence, Bamboo etc. Or similar
*Hold a Bachelor and / or Master of Science
*Programming experience in either SQL/ NoSQL, R/Matlab, ImageJ / IMAGIC, SCALA / Hadoop (Advantageous)
*Interest in Science / Medical (Advantageous)
