Role Overview

As a Software Developer in Test and Automation, you will be among our top-notch quality and automation engineers, building innovative security products to deliver industry leading, intelligence-based information security services. We protect our customers by disrupting attacker tradecraft so we can deny them access to the networks we protect. This is a challenging and rewarding role where interesting projects in security are implemented in order to protect our clients.  If you are clever, have the technical chops for it, and are interested in protecting the good guys by disrupting the bad guys, our team may be right for you. 

Role Responsibilities

-Design and development associated with automated software testing, using a range of applicable technologies 

-Lead testing and fixing of new or enhanced products; Create technical documentation of software testing tools and solutions; Protect Intellectual property by working appropriate legal elements (ex: procurement, patents, and open source)

-Work collaboratively to define best practices around test strategy, automation code, automation technologies, and test framework

-Work with the team to develop, maintain, and communicate current development schedules, timelines and development status

-Review requirements, specifications and designs to assure product quality; Develop and implement plans and tests for product quality or performance assurance, including Analyzing requirements and developing comprehensive, innovative testing solutions; Modify existing testing tools and software to add new functions, adapt to new hardware, improve performance or enhance efficiency and effectiveness; Drive idea generation for new testing tools, process, and methodologies  

As a managed security provider, SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53.  Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems.   Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements 

-Experience writing automation for testing and testing code, for Windows and applications tightly integrated with Windows (Driver testing experience on Windows is a plus)

-Elasticsearch, PyCharm, Protocol Buffers, Redis, Google Test, or similar technology experience

-Python development skills, and Robot Framework automation 

-TCP/IP and networking experience

-git, Jira, Confluence experience (and related SDLC tools)

-C++ and Visual Studio experience

-Experience with mission critical large-scale systems, scaling and concurrency; Demonstrated ability writing code that meets our standards (e.g. code reviews, unit tests, etc.); Experience evaluating and selecting third party tools

-Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Proven ability to collaborate with peers, leaders, and internal and external customers; Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results, prioritize activities, and to manage time effectively; Strong drive for results; Ability to grasp complex issues to arrive at optimal solutions; Impeccable ethics and integrity; Ability to adjust to new situations quickly and successfully

-BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines or equivalent work experience required.

Preferences

-Familiarity with Windows installation and administration is preferred

-Experience working with Cloud development environment is a plus.

-Linux administration, package management, and shell scripting a plus.
