Role Overview

We are looking for top-notch quality and automation engineers to help us build innovative security products/services. We protect our customers by disrupting attacker tradecraft so we can deny them access to the networks we protect. This is a challenging and also very rewarding position where interesting projects in security are implemented in order to protect our clients. Role Responsibilities (high level summary of key duties)

- Responsible for the design and development activities associated with automated software testing, using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., programming languages, compilers, debuggers, other tools) for products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs.
- Work collaboratively to define best practices around test strategy, automation code, automation technologies, and test framework.
Analyzes requirements and develops comprehensive, innovative testing solutions.
Modifies existing testing tools and software to add new functions, adapt to new hardware, improve performance or enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Participates in product development in all stages from planning, design, development, testing, implementation and post deployment support.
Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
Participates in the software development lifecycle, which includes research, new development, modification, security, correction of errors, reuse, re-engineering and maintenance of software products.
Gathers business requirements and participates in product definition and feature prioritization, including customer usability studies.
Leads the testing and fixing of new or enhanced products.
Creates technical documentation of software testing tools and solutions.
Drives idea generation for new testing tools, process, and methodologies.
Protects Intellectual property by working appropriate legal elements (ex: procurement, patents, and open source).
Responsible for the delivery of products within budget, schedule and quality guidelines.
Works with the team to develop, maintain, and communicate current development schedules, timelines and development status.
Reviews requirements, specifications and designs to assure product quality; develops and implements plans and tests for product quality or performance assurance.

As a managed security provider, SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive experience of professional software development or Software QA experience.
Experience writing automation for and testing code for Windows and applications tightly integrated with Windows. Driver testing experience on Windows is a plus.
Exceptional Robot Framework automation and Python development skills.
TCP/IP and networking experience
Experience with SDLC related tools; git, Jira, Confluence
Experience with Elasticsearch, PyCharm, Protocol Buffers, Redis, Google Test, or similar technologies is required.
Experience with C++ and Visual Studio
Familiarity with Windows installation and administration is preferred
Experience with mission critical large scale systems, scaling and concurrency.
Experience working with Cloud development environment is a plus.
Experience evaluating and selecting third party tools.
Comfortable writing code that meets our standards (e.g. code reviews, unit tests, etc.)
Linus administration, package management, and shell scripting a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results, prioritize activities, and to manage time effectively.
Proven ability to collaborative with peers, leaders, and internal and external customers.
