About the Job:

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a leading infrastructure contractor to take on a qualified Civil Engineer to join a team dedicated to a large array of reconstruction and repair projects on behalf of Network Rail. With a strong and continuous portfolio of projects within the Yorkshire and North Derbyshire area, my client is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Civil Engineer to join the organisation as Site Engineer, supporting the site team and responsible for setting out, surveying, measurements and control of the works on site.

Role Description:

The successful Site Engineer with form a critical part of the project team and will be responsible for:

  • Management of direct labour and materials on site
  • Carry out the setting out works, reading off detailed drawings/designs to ensure accuracy
  • Sign off site documentation
  • Assist with the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Work Package Plans.
  • Supervision of the works including labour, plant and subcontractors
  • Produce permits to dig
  • Daily briefings and supporting weekly programmes.
  • Report into the site manager on programme developments
  • Help with Work Package Plans and Task Briefings

Required Experience:

This role would ideally suit an individual who has recently qualified in Civil Engineering (HNC and above), alongside relevant experience on site. My client is looking for an individual who is eager to learn and will strive to develop and progress within the organisation.

The successful Site Engineer will have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • HNC, HND or ideally Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or associated qualification

  • Some industry experience within a contracting environment in civil engineering – ideal projects would include rail, bridges, structures, embankments, highways, groundworks and earthworks

  • Good communication skills

  • IT literate in MS Office

  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
