About the Job:
The role of Senior Tax Adviser in the UK team is to lead the UK tax team to ensure that tax returns for the UK are submitted on time, to deal with HMRC enquiries into the returns and to maintain a controlled stance to IBM’s tax compliance requirements. This will involve:-
• Leading the corporation tax compliance team with its corporation tax compliance – including the calculations for the disclosures in the accounts, preparing internal reports for the US tax department, preparing and submitting the UK corporation tax returns and dealing with HMRC enquiries into these returns;
• Managing the more complex tax matters including potential CFC reviews, RDEC claims and the more complicated interactions with HMRC including transfer pricing aspects such as Advance Pricing Agreements and Advance Thin Capitalisation Agreements.
• Supervising the corporation tax requirements of acquisitions made by IBM for corporation tax, including the occasional tax due diligence prior to the acquisition and the integration of the UK companies into the IBM tax process.

IBM's tax department is a high achieving team and there are plenty of opportunities for expanding knowledge and for progression into international tax roles.
