This is a great opportunity for a Software Developer to join our Commercial Banking business.
This role requires full software development lifecycle skills and involves business communication and stakeholder management, design and development, requiring advanced development skills in a number of technologies, that will complement your experience of managing / participation in an agile development team.
The Data and MI Development team within Portfolio Analytics is responsible for delivering business intelligence solutions, sourcing and maintaining portfolio data that supports database processing and production of analytic and reporting capabilities.
We need to ensure robust and reliable delivery, by focusing on infrastructure, databases, reporting tools and reconciliations.
We have 4 functions:
- developing and understanding of robust source feeds
- architecture of IT hardware and design and build of databases to process the data
- reporting data to users through web based reports / OLAP engines / database extracts
- production services around the above.
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure that the end to end process from sourcing data through to availability of reporting runs smoothly, efficiently and is reconcilable
- Manage / perform the design and build of the database engine and reporting capabilities and assist with ETL as necessary
- Maintain documentation of systems architecture, processes and procedures and the code repository is up to date
- Stakeholder management, engagement and feedback
- Assist with recommendations of hardware implementation to optimise the usage of current hardware available
Key Capabilities / Knowledge:
- Expansive, demonstrable experience in designing and building MI systems for finance / risk as part of a team. Preferably Microsoft Certified.
- Experience in technical project management / technical business analyst and comfortable with stakeholder management. Preferably PRINCE 2 with experience of different development approaches, eg Agile and Waterfall
- Experience in development of tactical and enterprise level solutions
- Experience in management and resolution of data quality issues
- Experience in installing / specifying hardware that is suitable for the short / medium term
- Experience in a development environment and familiar with setting up and maintaining Active Directory groups, shelling onto servers, starting and stopping windows services, administering IIS, setting up and monitoring SQL Server Agent jobs and configuring database mail / SMTP
- Experience with source control software and the processes put in place to release code through the Dev / UAT / Prod chain
