The Opportunity

We currently have an opening for a Microbiology Technician / Senior Technician to carry out challenge testing in support of NPD projects and conduct microbial challenge testing.
The Role
Providing the effective delivery of challenge testing service to the business as well as external customers
Undertaking challenge testing projects against agreed protocols, ensuring it is delivered on time and to expected quality standards
Maintaining the testing facility provision within Microbiology
Maintaining internal quality systems aligned to ISO 17025 principles
Providing reference samples to support quality assurance testing of external laboratories
Partaking in appropriate and timely response to any microbial food safety issues
Ensuring all team activities comply with H&S requirements
Engaging in Research and Development activities to keep the businesses challenge testing protocols and service up to date
Working hours; Monday - Friday - office hours
The Candidate;
Food / Science based degree
Excellent working knowledge of all functions of a competent Microbiology laboratory
Previous Food Microbiology experience working within a UKAS accredited laboratory
Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards
