Basic qualifications: 

Degree  in Information Technology or related discipline 
• Extensive experience in SAP development  ABAP, JAVA, PI/PO, Mobility, FIORI.
• Track record in delivering changes and projects in an SAP environment
• Track record of delivering enhancements to a regulated and validated environment
• Experience of at least 3 full lifecycle of SAP implementation projects rolling out SAP in a Major Global implementation for a Multi National Company
• Experience working with third-parties, particularly off-shore suppliers, to deliver changes
• Demonstrable experience of sustaining and developing critical relationships. Ability to influence senior stakeholders in the business and in IT
• Expert knowledge and experience of SAP solutions in a manufacturing (regulated) environment
• Excellent people-management skills
• Excellent communications, organizational and mentoring skills
• Flexibility to work with people from various backgrounds and geographic locations
• Knowledge of Lean Sigma, experience of application

Preferred qualifications: 

SAP Certification
Experience of SAP solutions in a Pharmaceutical environment

How fits with overall GSK strategy:
The GSK SAP ERP existing operating systems support the manufacture of product and support of commercial functions within GSK.  These systems are reaching the end of their life and GSK is driving a significant investment programme to replace the M-ERP, M-ERP2, ICERPS, JCERPS, BEBOP assets.

The SAP ERP Programme has a clear objective - to implement one core system across all sites, based on consolidation of the existing systems and to standardise ways of working across the globe.

The Development Service Lead is required to assess, design and implement ERP enhancements to support business processes as part of the major ERP programme teams.  Ultimately this role will evolve to become a core IT delivery role performing the same function but for all strategic SAP systems. 

Scope of role:
This role will have 3-6 direct reports, indirect, oversee 30 – 60 Contingent workers

Purpose:
a) Manage the design, build and implementation of system enhancements to support business processes for strategic IT systems.
b) Work closely with SAP Functional and Business Partnering team leads to implement SAP customizations ensuring delivery on time, within budget and meeting or exceeding customer expectation
c) Ensure effective template governance by maintaining close working relationships with key stakeholders.
d) Provide cutover transition into support for new implementations, ensuring formal Knowledge Sharing with Application Support.
e) Provide software development subject matter experts to assist in audits (internal and external) as required.
f) Ensure compliance with GSK Processes & Policies as well as audit & validation requirements.
g) Manage enhancements to meet changes in GSK policy or technical standards.

Key responsibilities: 
1. Owns delivery of software development for all SAP systems particularly those pertaining to the M-ERP & CERPS Programmes and will include shared SAP components and other strategic SAP systems.
• Manages and assigns technical resources for design and development of SAP solutions, this includes ABAP, Labeling, Workflow, Portal, PI/PO Mobility, FIORI and shared SAP components.
• Provide ABAP, Labeling, Workflow, Portal, PI/PO Mobility & FIORI development resources to support enhancements to older SAP systems so that these enhancements are aligned to programme objectives.
• Provide cutover transition into support of all bespoke developments associated with strategic IT systems and ensuring formal Knowledge Sharing with Application Support.

2. Partner with Functional and Business Partnering team and other technical groups to define and design technical solutions for the Programme. 
• Establish and develop strong working relationships with all contributors to the Programmes especially other technical teams and Functional and Business Partnering teams.
• Work with Functional and Business Partnering teams to define SAP solutions to met end to end business processes. 
• Ensure the technical design meets the end to end business process.
• Work with other technical teams (Basis, Security, Integration) and testing to ensure the technical design is fit for purpose.
• Ensures that any business needs that drive a requirement for bespoke development are strongly challenged and options for process redesign are considered

3. Oversees SAP technical design and development provided by System Integrator, working with onshore and offshore teams.
• Review SAP technical design and development provided by System Integrator.
• Provide expert level guidance for SAP ABAP, Workflow, Porta PI/POl, Mobility & FIORI development.
• Ensure that SAP development provided by System Integrator is in line with guidelines for bespoke development.

4. Provide SAP Technical design authority in order to ensure that the design is delivered in line with programme objectives and GSK programming standards and practices. 
• Act as technical design authority for ABAP, Workflow, Labeling, Portal, Mobility & FIORI development. 
• Ensure that development is in line with programme objectives and follows GSK programming standards and practices.
• Provide technical subject matter experts to assist in audits (internal and external) as required.
• Engage with Quality, Risk & Compliance function to ensure that technical design and development is aligned to all relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
