About the Job:

ROLE: 
The Retail Trainer will assist in developing, delivering and managing training and development solutions to ensure the business has engaged, motivated employees that are equipped with the skills and behaviours required to meet the business objectives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
a) Fully understand KRA’s and work to deliver and improve them through T&D activity. 
b) Developing and delivering materials that contribute to the continuous development of employee capability. 
c) Provide and deliver material that supports, quality assures and evaluates operational training. 
d) Assist in delivering processes that ensure fair and consistent performance management processes. 
e) Delivering an integrated, values based, recruitment, induction and probation process. 
f) Keep up to date with legislation and market place trends that affect T&D activity. 
g) Work with colleagues across the business to achieve a best of the best approach to T&D activities. 
h) Understand HR policies and how they relate and are applied to the role. 
i) Ensuring that appropriate communication materials are developed, delivered and monitored. 
j) Make recommendations for improvements through critical analysis of the T&D function. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 
a) Good standard of numeracy, literacy and verbal communication. 
b) APLH (Award for Personal License Holders), must have or be prepared to undertake this qualification. 
c) Proven track record of developing others, coaching and mentoring skills. 
d) Working knowledge of health and safety and legislative responsibilities of a retail environment. 
e) Ability to generate ideas for driving the business and its team forward. 
f) Full driving license. 

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 
a) NVQ level 3 – 4 in management, customer care, or equivalent. 
b) CIPD – Certificate in Training Practice, or similar. 
c) Qualified to deliver the following: CIEF Food Safety 2; First Aid 2. 

You may have experience of the following: Retail Trainer, Training Consultant, HR, Human Resources, Retail Manager, CIPD, CIEF, Food Safety, First Aid, L&D, Learning and Development, Trainer, Hospitality, Food Retail, FMCG, Sales Coach, Store Manager etc.
