About the Job:

PURPOSE & IMPACT ON ORGANIZATION:

  • Contributes to meeting or exceeding store sales and KPI targets by:
  • To provide and manage training and development across the entire store
  • Identification of training needs, analyze and design an effective training program which can be reviewed and executed within store
  • Using his/her expertise and experience to monitor and feedback on training, and retention of training to Senior Store Management and HR & Training Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure all store employees within store comply with global training standards and guidelines specified in the SHINE aGRU program to provide a leading shopping experience for all customers, monitoring progress and reporting back to line manager
  • To coach and mentor store employees, in order to drive their performance and increase their business knowledge within the store as a whole
  • To support the Store Operations and Retail Back Office both in-store and out of store, ensuring that all relevant processes and procedures are communicated via the SHINE aGRU program and feeding back where necessary on own observations to line manager
  • To identify and communicate store needs and best practices to line manager, HR & Training Manager and Retail Training Managers
  • To conduct monthly full reviews and tracking of store training to ensure consistency between different areas, targets and deadlines for training and development are met, feeding back to senior store management and HR & Training Manager on progress
  • To train and develop best practices across the Store, supporting Store Management on the adidas Group Retail University (SHINE) Store Operations Manual (SOM), CEI and Health and Safety role out to all employees
  • To analyse, design and deliver training programs as appropriate within the Store, in co-ordination with Store Management Team, HR & Training Manager and Retail Training Managers, creating short and long term plans for implementation
  • To ensure Training plans and reports are delivered on time and in full as described in SHINE  aGRU, i.e. What level of training has been completed in store / per employee (accurate files / updates), working with the in-store HR team for personnel files and communicating to Senior Store Management and HR & Training Manager
  • To target and publish monthly plans for review of Senior Store Management of key focuses (Seasonal, Technology, CEI, SHINE, SOM, H&S etc) and communicate to HR & Training Manager and Retail Training Managers
  • To work in partnership with HR & Training Department in order to ensure that any external training is delivered in a consistent, but relevant manner to the relevant parties, communicating these with the Senior Store Management
  • To lead by example, creating a professional, high performance culture. Driving service standards through NPS and inspiring store employees to deliver best in class service in each area, focusing on the CEI culture. Measuring performance and retention of training through key KPIs
  • To work with Senior Store Management and HR & Training Manager to identify  and develop Retail talent and support the ‘Succession Plan’ for the store. Working in partnership with the Retail Training Managers to facilitate and implement IDP’s for in store talent (Identifying and developing employees seen as trainers, driving the personal development of natural successors)
  • To support the Store Management Team in performance management of employees within the Store by providing additional training support as appropriate and feeding back as necessary including to the HR & Training Manager
  • To evaluate the training and development delivered by both self and others, recommending changes and implementing best practice and New Ways of Working in partnership with the Store Management Team, HR & Training Manager and Retail Training Managers
  • To keep abreast of other Companies and their approach to general training and development initiatives
  • To lead and manage other training projects as agreed with the Senior Store Manager and  the HR and Training Team
  • Any other duties as requested by line Mangers.

  • Minimum 2 Years relevant Training & Development experience
  • Competent in delivering training initiatives
  • Experience of working within a Retail environment
  • Knowledge of the adidas Group
  • Tenacity to achieve targets
  • Able to influence and manage

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum one year of training facilitation experience (retail industry preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office program skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Fluent in English
