About the Job:
Smyths Toys offers a structured Retail Management Graduate Programme within the Company. Graduates who successfully complete the Programme will have gained experience in all aspects of the operation of a modern multi-site retailer. This will include exposure to store and non-store functions. The successful completion of the Programme, which is scheduled over 24 months, will open up opportunities at various levels in Store Management.
Store Operations Assignment
Graduates will complete numerous placements in some of our top stores in Ireland. Working closely with the Store Manager, Graduates will gain experience in achieving company KPI’s, delivering merchandising standards, stock control, customer care, health and safety, and the recruitment, training and development of staff.
Head Office Assignment
During the placement in our Head Office, located in Galway, the Graduate will gain experience in many of the key departments such as Buying, Finance, Logistics, Marketing and Central Purchasing.
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of a 2.1 Honours Degree in any discipline
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise
- Excellent verbal, written, communication /interpersonal skills
- Be highly motivated and ambitious, and have an appetite for hard work
