Position: Research & Development Engineer / Mathematical Modeller
Location: Stevenage
Salary:£30,000 - £45,000 (Depending on experience) + Overtime, Flexitime, Pension, 25 days holiday, plus much more

R&D | Research & Development | Mathematical Modeller | Matlab | Simulink | Stateflow | Radar | RF | DSP | Digital Signal Processing | FORTRAN | C++

Do you have an analytical mind?
Do you have a background in Mathematics, Physics or complex electronics?
Do you have a Systems Engineering understanding and understand systems engineering processes?
Do you enjoy developing new products and complex mathematical models?
Are you able to gain UK security clearance based on the criteria at the bottom of this specification?

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Research & Development engineer with a strong emphasis towards either Mathematical modelling, Requirements specification & design, Trials planning & testing or Systems validation to support production

*You will be involved in various stages of RF Product development from the concept stage through system design, development, proving and on to manufacture. There will be opportunities for travel both within the UK and abroad in support of testing and trials.
*A mixture of formal and on the job training will be available to introduce new concepts and build on existing skills and experience.

Requirements / Skills

*Ideally degree qualified or equivalent with the following skills and experience:-
oAptitude for developing complex models. If no direct experience; must have experience of programming skills (Matlab), C, C++, FORTRAN, etc.
oTools/ Languages 
?Matlab
?Simulink (desirable not essential)
?Stateflow (desirable not essential)
?Programming for Auto-coding
?C (desirable not essential)
oBackground 
?Numerate
?Familiarity with Radar and Control Systems an advantage
?Familiar with Digital Signal Processing an advantage
?Willingness to learn 
oProject, Tools & methods
?Demonstrate persistence to get the job done
?Team working - work as a member of the team 
?The ability to build good working relationships with team members and other functions
