About the Job:
Quality Engineer – Automotive
A Globally recognised, market leading Tier 1 supplier of World ClassAutomotiveproducts, focussed on delivering the highest quality service to their customers, are now seeking a Quality Engineer to help maintain their status as the Supplier of Choice to many of the world’s foremost Car makers.
The ideal candidate will become part of a team aiming to guarantee that both internal and external customers are completely satisfied with the product. You will ensure that the quality and regulatory requirements are maintained and that Quality improvements are driven, tracked and communicated within the company and their customers.
Location – Milton Keynes / Oxford / Banbury / Northampton / Warwick / Daventry

The Challenge
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will;
- Identify opportunities for improving Quality in terms of product and processes.
- Document and drive all product and process opportunitiesto closure to agreed timeline.
- Ensure a high profile for the team is maintained on site.
- Manage feedback to Management on all quality related issues.
- Complete Layered Audits, drive and document issues.
- Ensure Layered Audit Findings are closed in a timely manner.
- Provide Quality update information for concerns and potential concerns when they arise.
- Ensure all containment activities are completed effectively.
- Work with Customer Quality Engineers to close out customer concerns robustly.
- Collate, produce and manage customer and internal KPI Packs.
The Candidate
- Automotive and TS16949 experience is essential
- ISO 14001 and 18001 experience an advantage.
- Strong injection moulding & or mechanical engineeringbackground.
- Man management experience is a distinct advantage
- Ability to work on own initiative, and lead small teams for individual projects.
- Proven problem solving background leading 8D teams
- Must be able to manage customer feedback and present to senior management.
- Six Sigma Black belt accreditation preferred, Green belt minimum.
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good literacy & numeracy skills
- Minimum of 10 years’ quality engineeringexperience
- Comprehensive knowledge quality improvement tools
- Computer literate in word, Excel, PowerPoint Visio and Minitab
- Strong auditing background with proven ability to drive improvements.
