About the Job:

Build-a-Bear Workshop is currently recruiting for a Project Manager (Retail Construction) to join our construction project team primarily based at our UK Head Office in Slough.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional individual looking for a challenging and rewarding career with a growing international retailer. Projects will include a variety of new store openings, refurbishments and minor works.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Ensure that projects are completed to a high quality and on time.
  • Manage the installation process from quote to completion.
  • Undertake cost control and budget reporting.
  • To produce a critical path, and plan the process, understanding the timing of each stage.
  • Prepare all contracts, drawings, and ensure documentation is in order.
  • Work with sub-contractors and construction site contacts.
  • Support the Shop Construction and Operations teams.
  • Consult regularly with internal stakeholders.
  • Organise repairs and logistics.
  • Attend management meetings and effectively contribute to company decisions.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of construction methods and production chains.
  • Continuously improve and streamline processes
  • Make safety inspections, and ensuring construction and site safety.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in a technical or construction discipline.
  • Proven construction project management experience (ideally in the retail sector).
  • Extensive experience of using a structured project management approach.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Be able to deliver a superb customer service experience.
  • Ability to identify and manage issues and risks in a structured way.
  • Proven ability to plan and organise large numbers of individuals and teams in order to achieve objectives and targets.

  • Strong previous experience of delivering complex projects in a creative and fast paced retail environment.
  • Experience of operating with a high level of autonomy and the ability to manage others others delivery to agreed timescales
