Project Manager- Glasgow - Rail

My client in Glasgow are looking for experienced planning engineers on a long term contract basis

The successful applicant will have responsibility for a team delivering the planning, procurement and rail electrification works ensuring all projects are completed safely, on time and on budget.

General Responsibilities Include:
* The development of the contract from the award stage to final hand back to the client
* Reviewing the ability of the company to continue to meet clients' specified requirements
*Liaise and control sub- contractors working for the company
*Compliance with all Statutory, Company and Client requirements
*Manage SHEQ in accordance with company ISO certification throughout all assigned projects
*Providing interface with the client and sub-contractors at Project level.
*Assess changes to the contract for safety & environmental implications ensuring that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved
*Monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met and effect remedial action when required
*Determine training needs for all staff under his/her control including mandatory certified skills
*Approve contractors prior to letting contracts and inclusion onto Approved Contractor Database
*Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards
*Conduct planned general inspections to ensure that the policies, procedures and practices are being fully complied with.
*Action being taken to close out any problems, issues or safety non-compliance's found during checks and inspections or raised by the staff 
*Producing and delivery briefing materials
*Providing adequate instruction, training and advice to employees and other contractors on site.
*The provision of the interface with the client at local level.
*Purchasing of products and services from approved suppliers and sub-contractors
*Identify training needs of contractors & provide them with information as required by legislation.
