Production Engineering Craftsman (FTC)

Temporary Production Engineering Craftsman 6 – 9 months - Fixed Term Contract basis

Responsibilities and Duties: -

• Design & Manufacture jigs & fixtures for the manufacturing areas. 
• Work with Production engineering to Introduce new products and product ranges into the manufacturing shop. 
• Improving yields and reducing scrap/rework through introduction of Six Sigma methodologies. 
• Design and manufacture of tooling, jigs, fixtures for current and new projects. 
• Manufacture new production cells. 
• Convert solid model files, Programme and use CNC machine tools. 
• Continuous improvement and development of all manufacturing processes through the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques. 

Qualifications and Experience: -

• HNC/ONC Mechanical Engineering with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
• Time-served instrument maker or tool maker with relevant experience in supporting mechanical/electronic manufacturing. 
• Experience of CI/Six Sigma/Lean tools and their implementation 
• Some experience of using AutoCAD and or Pro Engineer would be beneficial. 
• Comply with all Company and personal Health and Safety requirements, and with the requirements defined by the Quality Management System in line with Company objectives and requirements.
