The Production Engineer - Electro/Mechanical role:

Improve quality and productivity working in a cross function environment to ensure all product requirements are taken into account from the initial product concept to the end of the products life cycle.

Office based role operating on day shift. This role also involves time spent on the factory floor be involved in direct hands-on factory work, there may be some light lifting of less than 20kg required.  Some travel may be required to visit suppliers and support customers

Key responsibilities as our Production Engineer - Electro/Mechanical include:

- Develop, evaluate and implement manufacturing process, procedure, methodologies and best practices to improve quality, reliability and productivity.

- Investigate problems, analyse root causes, develop and implement solutions.

- Develop, update and maintain work instructions, build processes, engineering changes and corrective and preventative actions.

- Provide technical support, training and guidance to team members to accomplished quality and production goals.

- Create procedures and practices to meet standards of quality, performance, cost and delivery.

- Work with planning to optimize routings, bill of materials and production planning.

- Work with production to ensure product deliverables meet customer requirements and deadlines.

- Participate as a member of a cross function team in the New Product Introduction process.

- Provide support to customer, team members and suppliers.

- Identify health, safety and environmental concerns and work to eliminate such issues and practices

- Support outsourcing activities.

- Work as a member of a team plus the ability to operate on own initiative.

Our ideal Production Engineer - Electro/Mechanical will have:

- Degree in electrical/electronic engineering, manufacturing or production engineering or mechanical engineering.

- Minimum 5 years experience in software driven electro/mechanical systems.

- Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.).

- Use and understanding of BOM structures and ERP software.

- ISO9001 and ISO14001 understanding.

- Understanding of Product life cycle, new product introduction and stage-gate process.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
