Job Description
We are looking for a Pre-Construction Project manager to join our team in Peterborough. Covering an area stretching from Lincolnshire to Northampton, you will be required to manage a programme of works (of varying complexity and value) to ensure that all pre-construction deliverables are in place prior to handover to the site delivery team.
You will be working closely with the integrated design team to assist in the preparation of the pre-construction information pack, advising on buildability and assessing requirements with respect to temporary works, traffic management, lifting, etc. and also manage a team of Site Engineers and support staff to ensure the required outputs are achieved.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Co-ordinate site visits with the area client to agree and document the initial project scope. Once agreed, co-ordinate further site visits with tier 2 suppliers and land owners to finalise methodology, prices and access.
*Attend regular progress meetings with the area client, managing programme delivery expectations
*Manage the safe and co-ordinated delivery of all enabling works during the scheme scope and design phase e.g. topographical surveys, ground investigation, vegetation clearance, etc.
*Work with the commercial lead to develop and negotiate the target cost for each scheme under the programme. This will include the production of a programme for the construction works.
Candidate Specification *Have good temporary works awareness, be a qualified LOLER Appointed Person (although not essential) and have the ability to build up a construction price from first principles.
