Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in Experimental Psychology

The Department of Psychology is looking for applicants with a PhD in Psychology, strong research track record in experimental psychology, and the capacity to teach in core BPS areas of our Psychology programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Our UG program is accredited by the BPS. Eligibility for Graduate Basis of Chartered Membership with the BPS is therefore a prerequisite for the posts.

You will be expected to assist in the delivery of core BPS courses, particularly research methods, statistics and research projects. You should be able to teach research methods and lead SPSS sessions. Additional skills in programing experiments (e.g., E-Prime), analysing data (e.g., SPSS, R, MATLAB) would be very welcome as is the ability to teach a neuroimaging technique (fNIRs, TMS, EEG, fMRI). With excellent interpersonal skills, the candidate will act as a tutor for students at all three levels. Though the position is primarily a teaching position you will be given the opportunity to develop your research track.

Please note that this is a Post-Doctoral Fellowship and a Doctorate is in all cases required. Applications from persons who are nearing completion of a PhD will be considered; however, a PhD will need to have been awarded prior to the post being taken up. This post is a fixed term appointment for a 12-month period in the first instance.
