Planner or Planning Engineer

We are currently looking for a planning engineer or a Site engineers /Site Agents with experience of planning software to join a leading Civils contractor in the Bristol area. You must have a civil engineering background and knowledge of MS Project, Asta Project or Primavera but don't have to be in a full time planning role at present.

The contractor in question specialise in Bulk Earthworks/Muckshift, General Civils, Groundworks, Highways, Rail and Drainage. With a turnover in the region of £50 million - £60 million, they are a good medium sized contractor with healthy forward orders and strong repeat business. They have a friendly, family run atmosphere but remain large enough to offer good job stability. A key selling point of the company is local work, particularly in the Bristol and Swindon area.

The role of 'Planning Engineer' will be split between tender and project planning on roughly a 50/50 basis. Reporting to a Commercial Director, you will be based in Head Office and would form a key part of the bid team to produce winning submissions, alongside traditional planning activities for live and upcoming projects.

Key Duties will include -

* Producing critical path and resourced programme
* Attending tender meetings
* Producing post-contract award programmes
* Producing method statements
* Working at part of a bid team to produce winning submissions
