As Sky grows, we're seeking a talented and passionate PHP Developer. Based in Leeds, our Technology team is one of the largest technical hubs in the UK. A key strategic location for our business, we're creating our own Digital Centre of Excellence and we'd like you to be part of it. Depending on the individuals own aspirations, we'll even give you the opportunity to develop and learn new technologies too.

The digital teams, within Sky Technology, are responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the key customer facing websites across sports, news, entertainment and service with the team in Leeds is expanding to assist in future development in this space. The team is tasked with the technical implementation, delivering robust and creative solutions to demanding and often immovable deadlines. Sky Technology strives to be seen both internally and externally as a world-class software engineering function.
Our new teams have a real 'start up' feel and there's loads of room for development. You'll have the chance to use cutting edge tools and technologies to create rich user experiences; all whilst working in an Agile environment.
Requirements:
*1-2 years commercial experience of developing object orientated web solutions using Linux, Apache, PHP, XML/JSON, CSS, HTML(5), Javascript
*Experience of building high performing and available websites and how to apply page performance optimisation techniques
*Adept at building and maintaining cross browser/device compatible sites
*Exposure or appreciation of agile development practices with a wiliness to be a proactive participant in the agile process
*Comfortable with revision control systems
*Passionate about user experience
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
*Strong problem solving and analytical skills
*Bachelors' degree or equivalent industry experience
