The Company

Our client designs & manufactures electrical parts for motorcycles and is in the process of expansion

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director the Operations/Production Manager will have responsibility for managing all aspects of the production and operational functions for the company and will be responsible for implementing necessary process improvements to create an efficient manufacturing operation capable of expansion; meeting relevant KPIs and financial targets.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Day to Day running and improvement of the production operation.
  • Introduction of improvements and efficiencies in all production departments via better methods, tooling and systems
  • Production Scheduling
  • Control of procurement and stockholding costs
  • Production of BOMS
  • Budget preparation for all production departments.
  • Working with the MD to develop ideas to increase revenue by identifying new opportunities.
  • Providing regular feedback and ‘headline’ reporting to the MD
  • Implementation of Quality and Health and Safety initiatives

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a proven, successful track record in a similar role and ideally, but not necessarily, be apprenticeship trained.

The following skills and experience are required:

·Good leadership and people skills

·Sound engineering/technical/manufacturing background

·Excellent communications skills,

·Self-motivated, highly focused and keen to take on more responsibility with time

·Good organisational and time-management skills

·A positive attitude

·Confidence presenting to groups of people

·Initiative and enterprise

·Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information

·Relationship builder able to motivate and inspire people

·Knowledge of some or all of the following; coil winding, PCB (surface mount assembly), CNC machining, general assembly and injection moulding

·Computer literacy with good experience of Word, PowerPoint and Excel specifically.
