Essex

£31,800 + Overtime

12 Hours, Days and Nights (Mainly Monday to Friday with some weekend work)

 

The Company

My client is looking for electrically qualified candidates from the Navy, Army, RAF or industrial backgrounds to join a world leader in their market.

ATA Recruitment are currently working with a global automated distribution company who have sites across 50 countries and employ in excess of 2000 worldwide. As a company they design, manufacture and supply fully automated logistic solutions for many different clients, they then provide the full service contract which involves recruiting maintenance teams who provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support on a permanent basis.

The site in Essex is responsible for the distribution of paper products, they are now looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer who will be responsible for maintaining conveyor based systems and cranes on the site.

If you are a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, a mechanically biased maintenance engineer or an engineer leaving the Navy, RAF or Army with an electrical qualification who has and electrical qualification then apply now.

 

The Role

The role of Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will involve:

  • Maintenance of PLC Controlled machinery which includes conveyors, cranes, bar code readers and chain conveyors.

  • Working a 12-hour rotating shift pattern covering mainly Monday to Friday with some weekend work required.

  • Completing all reactive, planned and preventative maintenance.

  • Mechanically you will be required to replace faulty parts such as bearings, shafts, rollers and belts.

  • Electrically you will be required to electrically fault find, tracing faults back to wiring issues, fault sensors or motor blowouts, you will therefore be required to read and understand electrical diagrams.

  • PLC work will involve checking inputs and outputs.

  • The site does have 30m cranes therefore you will need to be happy to work at heights.

  • You will be working in a team of four engineers reporting to the Site Manager. The engineers at the site have a lot of experience in the industry to learn from.

 

The Candidate

To be successful as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will need:

  • An electrical qualification would be desirable, would also consider mechanical qualification with a good amount of electrical experience.

  • The client would consider people with an electrical qualification leaving the Navy, Army or RAF.

  • Happy to work at heights.
