About the Job:
We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the Engineering team at our manufacturing site in Deeside. Reporting to the Engineering Team Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.
Here at Morrisons our Multi Skilled Engineers do the following:
• Work collaboratively within the Engineering team
• Support in investigating means of improving plant productivity
• Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available.
• Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages
• Action any necessary repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.
• Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance.
• Be proactive in ensuring good health and safety on site
What do I need to be a successful Multi Skilled Engineer?
• You will be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical Engineering, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
• Ideally, IEE qualification up to 17th edition Wiring Regulations
• Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (Ideally Food Industry)
• Have a good understanding of HACCP principles
• Previous experience programming PLC is beneficial however not essential.
• You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate assertiveness and decision making skills and have a can do attitude to your work.
Where you will be working:
At Farmers Boy - Deeside, the site is undertaking a 3 phase investment in our Low Risk department which includes an extension to the building (already completed) and the renovation of 2 existing departments. We have installed 2 new lines in the High Risk area of the factory, which are now fully operational and we have increased our head count by 100 this year.
