About the Job:

Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Coordinator

The Organisation is expanding

The Blue Door is a part of Grimsby and Scunthorpe Rape Crisis, but we’re a fast growing service with a reputation for excellence across the region, we have just expanded in to Hull & East Riding and it’s an exciting time to join us, with lots of opportunities for career development.

We require

A Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Coordinator for our North and North East Lincolnshire teams, this full time role will work across both areas.

The Role

In this role your core function will be to manage two very busy meetings where the focus is high risk domestic abuse, you will be responsible for raising awareness of MARAC and the domestic abuse support available in each area and provide our own team and our partner agencies with all they need to fully participate in the MARAC process. Although this role isn’t one that directly works with our Service Users, they are an integral part of our organisation and one of our key stakeholders, they are also the most important part of our service and there will be times you will have direct client contact. In fact, we will actively encourage this.

It is all about you

Your colleagues come from a wide variety of backgrounds with lots of different experience and expertise. Your background isn’t really important, you and your personal attributes are. The Blue Door team members are all friendly, personable, professional, warm and confident but more than anything they are passionate about what they do and why they do it.

Why join us?

We understand that all our team members are dedicated and committed, because of that we offer some fabulous benefits to make it as easy as possible for you. Everyone gets 35 days annual leave (including 7 day statutory holiday allowance that you can choose to take on statutory holidays, or at other times!), standard access to flexible working, fully mobile working including 4g tablets and web based case management software, essential car user allowance, personal training budgets, a 5% employers pension contribution (after qualifying period).

Do you want to make a difference?

We are looking for people who are ready to give their next role everything they’ve got, people who want to make a difference every day. Experience of working in a domestic abuse or sexual violence related field isn’t necessary; in fact it’s not even desirable for us. Experience of working in a fast paced busy environment is important, you must have the confidence to make your voice heard in a room full of people whose opinion may not match yours. You will regularly provide training to professionals at all levels, don’t be put off, they will be keen to tap into your knowledge.

We’d also like it if technology doesn’t scare you (we love technology!), you’re comfortable and confident with a PC and MS applications, your literacy and communication skills are very strong (we write a lot of reports and go to a lot of meetings). Administrative assistance is provided to your role, however, during periods of absence you will be required to bridge the gap. Minute taking skills are not essential, we record all of our meetings, but you must be a superior typist and we will be testing you on this.

Finally, you must be someone who can recognise priorities and structure your time efficiently, you will have regular supervision to support you in your role, but you will not be micro managed; your ability to organise, prepare and plan will be the only thing to keep your workload under control.

Our recruitment process isn’t for the feint hearted, we will put you through your paces and challenge you to show us you’ve got what it takes, we have to make sure we are making the right choices. In what we do we can’t afford to get it wrong.

Sure you want to apply?

If you are looking for ‘a job’ then unfortunately this one isn’t for you, if you are looking for ‘the job’, this might just be it.

The closing date for applications is 2nd December at 5pm
