Microbiology Team Lead - Quality Control - GMP - W.Sussex-£Comp
A global biotech organisation is seeking an experienced QC Microbiology Team Lead to join its West Sussex facility. You will be required to lead a team of 6 technicians, providing technical expertise and supervision to ensure the production deadlines are met. You will have a strong microbiology background, ideally gained within a GMP regulated manufacturing or production facility. You must have prior supervisory experience.
Position Summary:
As part of the department leadership team you will deliver organisational and production results in line with the site strategy (strategic A3) and goals, together with specific objectives for the team including:

* Training and Development
* Process improvements
Responsibilities:
* Lead the training of your team ensuring they acquire the skills necessary to operate within their roles in a safe and effective manner
* Be a role model leader and demonstrate behaviours in line with the 4I values, operations and leadership competencies
* Ensure appropriate approvals and adherence of manufacturing processes and associated documentation; to include, but not limited to, Batch sign off, UD's and the production schedule.
* Manage and utilise all resources available to you to support the achievement of your teams goals, including people by way of managing holidays and absences by effective mentoring
* Take accountability for the results from within your team and responsibility for the decisions you make; ensuring your team members are clear on their responsibilities and roles.
* Develop your team by effectively managing the PMD process in a timely and effective way. Setting clear expectations with meaningful feedback to encourage continuous learning and improve individual performance and business results.
* Be responsible for driving and maintaining standards of safety, quality and cGMP within your team in adherence to our operating systems and manufacturing procedures.
* Lead the tiered meeting process; driving actions and accountability to solve problems and drive effective communication and teamwork both within the team and with appropriate customers (internal and external).
* Encourage engagement and motivation within your teams; create an environment that encourages change, growth and development.
* Deputise for the Department Manager in their absence.
* Ensure quality documentation is adequately maintained (SOP's)
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
* Supervisory or management experience
* Degree in microbiology/degree in a related field
* Competent in the use of the MS Office suite
* High attention to detail
* Ability to communicate openly
* Work flexibly to ensure deadlines are met
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in cGMP or GMP environment
* Knowledge of clean room practices
* Useage of SAP or related system
