About the Job:

White Label are now recruiting for Mechanical Design Engineer for one of our manufacturing clients based in the Lancashire area.

The company are growing steadily and as part of their plan due to the high demand for their bespoke product, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (SOLIDWORKS) with extensive experience in designing full products, rather than just individual components.

Candidates must be strong on Solidworks with minimum 5 years+ Mechanical Design experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead role in mechanical design at our company
  • Development of designs from concept through scheme, detail and manufacturing design stages.
  • Research, development and selection of best approaches and solutions.
  • Generation of 3D models and assemblies.
  • Checking of drawings to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Specification of proprietary components for designs through literature research.
  • The generation and control of Bills of Material.
  • Create cost effective design proposals and generate drawings suitable for manufacture.
  • Provide technical support and liaise closely and effectively with the sales, purchasing, production, manufacturing and build and test departments.
  • Work with a dedicated R&D team, support prototype build, test and reporting.
  • Accuracy of deigns and documentation produced.
  • Liaise with the Electrical and Controls Engineers to achieve project goals

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess strong core design skills with competence in product materials selection, couplings, structural design of components, mechanical joint system design.
  • Enthusiasm for the job with a strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Team player.
  • Creative and analytical skills to propose and assess best mechanical solutions.
  • Ability to work cross disciplines liaising with other departments.
  • Consistent, accurate approach to work with good attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking to provide optimum solutions for design challenges.
  • Full driving license.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Proficient in 3d SOLIDWORKS
  • Manufacturing practices and processes knowledge
  • Good knowledge of tolerances and materials.
  • Full driving licence.

The company are offering circa £32k (negotiable depending on level of experience) with a company car included.
