£25,000 - £35,000. Manufacturing Engineer. Manufacturing, Automation, Robotics, Design, Project Management, NPI, Lean & Continuous Improvement. Opportunity to join an established Tier 1 Automotive business at an exciting time of growth and ongoing investment. This varied role will involve supporting embedding new automation machinery with layout, design, installation, writing up reports and SOPs, re-engineering dated equipment while working with maintenance and Kaizen teams to establish best machine usage regimes. Project Engineer will also get involved in Lean and Continuous Improvement activities and documenting projects progress.

The job will involve:

• Supporting ongoing capex by embedding new machinery supporting design, layout and installation all the way through to writing SOPs
• Improving manufacturing process efficiency in respect to production rates, machine availability and OEE, alongside the maintenance and kaizen teams
• Re-engineering existing equipment
• Design – conceptualise and deliver on new ideas for factory layout, manufacturing process, new manufacturing equipment using CAD & Solid Works / Inventor
• Create and deliver project work plans, their resource requirements, associated risks and costs

This job will suit:

• Engineer with experience supporting NPI, Projects, Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, ideally within automotive industry or involving metal products
• Formal qualifications – HND, apprenticeship or degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Engineer with good knowledge of Design using CAD & Solid Works / Inventor
• Person with good interpersonal, presentation and report writing skills

This position is commutable from Birmingham, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Sutton Coldfield and surrounding areas.
