The majority of our management team started their careers in this role. Here at Boston Tea Party we view the kitchen porter role to be the perfect launch pad to a long and fulfilling career within the industry.
You may wish to progress through the ranks in the kitchen or gain experience as a member of the front of house team, whichever it is we will support you with training and encouragement to achieve this. We truly believe this to be a development role.

So we don’t expect or need you to come to us and demonstrate years of experience but we do expect you to bring the desire, drive and enthusiasm every day and to be part of a successful team who really care about what they do.
In this role you will be responsible for keeping the kitchen running smoothly by ensuring that everything is clean, tidy, safe and hygienic. Your support in handling deliveries and taking care of fantastic products will naturally lead to into learning how to prepare and create the wonderful food that we are so proud of.

We are also happy to be launching our a number of new NVQ Level 2 & 3 courses ranging from in Food Production to Leadership for those eligible individuals who want to increase their knowledge and experience whilst they work in one of our kitchens!

Being bigger is not always better & we want to remain a cafe to be discovered, recommended & returned to. Each of our cafés is designed to be a one off, a cherished local. We see ourselves as a chameleon, taking on the character of the local environment & the building in which we find ourselves, be it urban Stokes Croft, rural Honiton or historic Salisbury. We do this not only through the look & feel but through the staff we employ. In this way each café can build & retain its own identity & ensure that no two Boston’s are the same.
