Job details
There couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us as we invest in our systems and people to build an exciting future, using latest technologies, to the benefit of our colleagues and 30m+ customers.
Our Group IT function provides vital support across all our Divisions, supplying 87 IT services - many requiring 100% availability. There are 789 software systems operating through 26,000 servers and accessed by 145,000 PCs and laptops.
It’s no small wonder our IT helpdesk receives more than 43,000 requests a month!
We’re seeking two Java Developers, skilled in the use of Enterprise Edition Java (J2EE) to join an Identity team responsible for developing our key Oracle Identity Management tool. Used by IT Security it is our strategic product for managing user identities and provisioning logon access to end users.
You’ll get a chance to learn some new and very marketable tech as we build on your Java skills which will hopefully also include development tools like JIRA and Jenkins.
Working on a 24/7 rota with well-paid occasional out of hours and weekend work we’ll give you the responsibility for writing technical specifications, code development, unit testing and deployment working across the function and with wider internal and offshore resources.
Ideally you’ll also be comfortable working with agile/scrum development methodologies and worked in an organisation of a similar enterprise scale.
And if you happened to have wider knowledge of .NET, Clover ETL or Oracle Identity software then this would be hugely advantageous.
In return we offer the first class opportunities and benefits you’d expect from the UK’s largest bank including a bonus, generous pension, share schemes and private health cover.
We’re also keen on supporting a healthy work/life balance with options to work occasionally from home etc.
So if you have the Java skills and development background we’re seeking then get in touch, we’d like to hear from you…
Our vision of being the best bank for customers is dependent on every colleague committing to and demonstrating our core value of "putting customers first". In joining us you'll have a role that matters and will contribute towards the Group achieving our vision through your day-today actions being performed in line with our Codes of Responsibility and Group Policies. By individually and collectively committing to our Group values and codes, we will be able to make a difference together and help Britain prosper.
We're also committed to employing a diverse and inclusive workforce, reflective of the customers and communities we serve – where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit.
We're proud to have received the following industry recognition: 'Stonewall Top Private Sector Employer', 'Top10 Employer for Working Families', 'The Times Top 50 Employer for Women' and both 'Gold Standard' and "Best Workplace Adjustments Process" from the Business Disability Forum – each demonstrating our commitment to the principles of agile working and inclusion for all.
So if this sounds like a culture that you'd like to be a part of then be assured that we'll welcome your application.
