An opportunity has become available for an Insurance Product Manager - Retail Insurance working within the Daimler Insurance Services department reporting to the General Manager.

 

Job description:

The main purpose of the role is to develop and implement insurance programmes and product development initiatives within a highly regulated environment (FCA) for all General Insurance distribution channels, including the day to day management of the supporting relationships including, marketing departments, MBFS & Retailer sales staff and insurer partners. Ensure that all insurance distribution is managed in a structured, compliant way, documenting processes, product design, market analysis and delivering products which are suitable for the Mercedes-Benz customer base and adhere to the principals of Treating the Customer Fairly. This will include the following: 

    • Develop new product initiatives for insurance in line with consumer research results and changing market conditions in order to maximise growth of the insurance portfolios. Such Product initiatives could be linked to existing products or be new products suitable to the brand and beneficial to customers.
    • Manage new and existing supplier relationship to ensure delivery of suitable products within defined and new markets ensuring product delivers to agreed standards in a sustainable and profitable manner.
    • Research and analyse insurance related research projects in order to better understanding customer requirements and distribution channels and build products that meet the needs of the customer and the wider Daimler Group.
    • Become primary point of contact for all insurance product development within the Retail group & MBUK, ensuring that products are delivered through our chosen insurance partners and delivered in a compliant manner.
    • Production of customer insurance documentation and promotional material to ensure appropriate branding and corporate identity, develop and coordinate PR activities within the MB group in order to build awareness of DIS and their products and services.
    • Manage product development activities within the UK insurance Compliance framework and within the regulated environment of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • At least 3 years comprehensive motor insurance and/or private lines background with experience of sales and marketing activities.

  • High levels of organisational and administrative skills.

  • Educated to Industry recognised professional qualification (ideally FCII/ACII).

  • Proven ability to develop and deliver communication plans across a wide variety of mediums.

  • Strong oral, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Detailed understanding of principals of insurance regulations relevant to the sale and distribution of insurance products.
