About the Job:

Our client with over 200 years of expertise in natural product extractions and chemical synthesis,is looking for a motivated individual to join as Head of Engineering. In this fast paced role you will be responsible for the overall management of the site’s engineering services and leading the business’s engineering strategy.

This role requires extensive Senior Management experience from an engineering leadership role within the manufacturing industry, preferably chemicals/pharmaceuticals. Will consider others if they have experience of a COMAH site this is essential.

Person

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, with Industrial Engineering/Process Engineering background.

  • Leadership skills essential

  • Continuous improvement experience essential

  • Demonstrated process safety leadership experience and pharmaceutical GMP experience is highly desirable.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence, persuade and achieve results through others.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of approximately 40 people in a changing environment and will manage engineering revenue and capital budgets.

  • Develop capital plans for the site in line with the business strategy, including asset replacement and the introduction of new technology.

  • Deliver efficient and professional project management.

  • Develop and manage efficient maintenance programmes, covering all levels and equipment groups, maintaining asset integrity, availability and reliability.

  • Ensure that the Engineering Department is suitably resourced, and that staff have the required competencies and are appropriately coached, mentored and developed.

  • Execute plans for continuous improvement (assets, processes and systems) in line with legislation, best practice, group policies and business performance.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and support the interface with the regulators (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality).
