HEAD OF COMPLIANCE GOVERNANCE AND ADVICE

DESCRIPTION

Due to a team expansion in our compliance remit, an exciting opportunity has come available for a Head of to lead the Compliance Governance and Advice team, with significant influence on compliance strategy development and delivery within business areas regulated by the FCA and other relevant regulators.

You will;

• Ensure the team provides advice, guidance, support and expertise to all Approved Persons, Responsible Persons and other key stakeholders across the regulated entities in managing regulatory and conduct risks.
• Ensure the team provides detailed advice to senior managers on the regulatory and conduct risks associated with their strategy, business processes, initiatives and growth objectives to enable them to determine whether those objectives are consistent with the promotion of a positive compliance culture and the organisation’s risk appetite, and to enable them to achieve fair customer outcomes and establish effective conduct risk controls

• Ensure that the Governance and Advice team is able to anticipate, track, assess and advise on regulatory change affecting the regulated businesses by; monitoring regulatory publications and announcements in order to identify expected regulatory change, supporting the business in responding to regulatory change and monitoring readiness for compliance with changed rules, principles and guidance
• Support the Compliance Director in engaging with the FCA and other relevant regulators

• Develop a joined-up approach to interacting with regulators which involves a collaborative approach between management, the business and the Compliance Function.
• Support the business in preparing for on-site routine or ad hoc supervisory and/or thematic visits by regulators.

• Coordinate internally the submission of accurate and timely regulatory reports and notifications to regulators
• Develop and deliver periodic targeted training on compliance and/or regulatory matters to support business units own training and competence schemes.
• Deliver business focused solutions through the leadership and direction of the Compliance Governance & Advice Function.
• Interact and collaborate with other support and control functions to help ensure that Financial Services Compliance Function operates a comprehensive and cohesive control environment.

Do you have?

• A degree, degree level professional qualification or equivalent commercial experience.
• A great depth of experience in a senior compliance management role, to include extensive policy and advisory knowledge and, has demonstrated leadership in large organisations and may well be recognised outside of the company as an industry expert
• A Deep understanding of organisational governance, business models, culture, operational, financial, quality assurance and risk management procedures is a must.  Deep understanding of how regulators work.
