About the Job:
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Group Health and Safety Manager to join a growing pharmaceutical business based in the North West of England, with frequent travel to other sites in Hampshire and Hertfordshire. As the Group Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that employers and workers comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Group Health and Safety Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as following:

1. Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policy. Creation of emergency response plans and training of duty staff. Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. DSEAR, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.

2. Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented across the Group.

3. Carrying out risk assessments (including COSHH) and considering how risks could be reduced. Ensure that all assessments as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and records maintained of the same.

4. Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks. Leading site health and safety meetings and acting as a figurehead and leader in improving safety culture. keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Group Health and Safety Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree qualification in a Scientific or Engineering discipline. NEBOSH certification is essential.

2. Proven industry experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as the pharmaceutical, process manufacturing or fine chemical industries.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience of acquiring and applying detailed legal, technical and regulatory information is also desirable.
