About the Job:

We have been instructed on a new vacancy with a top tier US and international law firm based in the city. The Firm is looking to hire a Graduate Recruitment Specialist - Someone with drive and enthusiasm for Graduate Recruitment and who wants to take on a varied role with lots of responsibility. 

The role will work closely with the current Director and will have plenty of freedom to bring in new ideas. It’s a very busy, challenging and exciting opportunity to join one of the most sought after US law firms here in London.

Salary is up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing all trainees through their training contract, including seat allocation, reviews and qualification, as well as career counselling / general support.
  • Largely involved in the promoting of the Firm on campuses in the UK and oversee the design and implementation of all marketing materials, in conjunction with other departments.
  • Establish and manage the relationship between the Firm and target universities, academics, careers advice centers, advertisers and groups and societies within the student population.
  • Coming up with new ways to engage and attract students. Working closely with the Graduate Recruitment Partners.
  • Review all graduate applications, selecting those suitable for assessment days or interviews, resourcing and managing all assessment and selection processes to offer stage.
  • Organising vacation schemes including events; seat rotations; presentations and assessments.
  • Ensure that future trainees are kept regularly up to date with firm news and that issues surrounding the GDL or LPC are managed effectively.
  • Involved in setting and maintaining the UK graduate recruitment & US summer associate budget, ensuring that expenditure remains on target.
  • Reporting on graduate recruitment statistics to the US for firm wide discussion. Involved in liaising with the US offices in relation to recruiting generally.
  • To monitor competitors and ensure the Firm are constantly improving their approach.
  • Organise the trainee induction program and PSC course for all trainees.
  • US Graduate Programme - Responsible for organising the on campus interviews in the US and then any London callbacks. Liaise with the partners in order to ascertain hiring needs before helping to arrange flights, visas, accommodation and activities for the successful applicants.
  • Develop induction programme for Summer Associates and monitor summer expenses. Coordinate the Summer Associate review process.
  • Organising induction programme, practice group talks and events for two summer vacation schemes. Overseeing and developing these schemes.
  • Working with the practice groups and PSLs to develop the trainee training programme.
  • Keeping up to date on SRA regulations. Ensuring firm in compliance.
  • Ensure filing systems and processes are up to date including logging of candidate details.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. At least 5 years’ experience in Graduate Recruiting within a law firm required.

2. Excellent client service orientation with excellent communication skills and the ability to work

with attorneys and staff at all levels as well as developing an excellent rapport with students and

university contacts.

3. Ability to think critically and pro-actively and problem solve.

4. Ability to effectively prioritise and respond to multiple service requests, often while working

under tight time constraints.

5. Reliability, commitment, enthusiasm and punctuality.

6. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

7. Team player.

8. Professional attire and demeanor.
