European Technical Analyst (Server & Network)

We currently have a great opportunity to join our experienced IT team as a European Server/Network Technical Analyst, providing 2nd/3rd level support to our European markets. In this fast paced and varied role, you will support an expansive infrastructure covering five countries, several AD Domains, a large array of Windows Servers, a vast network infrastructure and a wide variety of applications.

The role is based at our UK Head Office in Maidenhead, Berkshire and will involve occasional travel within the UK and Europe, so a full UK driving license is essential for this position.

Ideal candidates should have extensive and relevant 2nd/3rd level support of:

  • Active Directory
  • Windows Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Deployment and support of Microsoft Office
  • Citrix
  • SQL Server
  • Backup Systems, similar to Arcserve or Tivoli Storage Manager.
  • Cisco Switch and Router Configuration/Administration
  • LAN/WAN technologies
  • Anti-Virus administration consoles
  • Thin Client management and deployment
  • VMware
  • SAN technologies
  • MDT/WDS
  • System Centre Configuration Manager
  • Automation of manual IT tasks.

The following skills are beneficial, but not essential: Zebra Wing 5 or similar OS, Cisco Telephony, IT Security and compliance PCI/SOX, Video Conferencing systems, Sophos Anti-Virus, KVS Enterprise Vault, Wavelink Avalanche, experience of supporting Time and Attendance Systems, HR systems, and an understanding of Point of Sale Retail Systems.

You will also have exceptional problem solving skills, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, be able to prioritise a busy workload whilst working to deadlines and have a positive, can-do approach. You will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst using your own initiative, have the ability to coach and mentor more junior members of staff and be able to contribute to discussions about new ideas and technologies to drive the business forward

This role also requires some flexibility on hours and out of hours work is an essential part of this position.
