Our client provide specialist consultancy advice to clients across environmental sectors such as ecology, wastewater and pollution management. Due to continued growth of business, an ecology team leader is required to head up the Derby office.

Qualifications

• A degree in a related discipline, e.g. ecology, biology or an environmental science
• A postgraduate qualification, such as an MSc or PhD
• Full chartered membership of the CIEEM

Experience

• Experience with project management within an ecological consultancy
• Experience being a named ecologist on EPS licences, ideally for GCN, badger and bat licences
• Extensive experience within the consultancy industry
• In depth knowledge of current relevant UK and EU legislation
• Skills in large scale schemes, such as EIA

Responsibilities

• Undertaking ecological survey work, e.g. phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys
• Liaising with clients, developing new business opportunities and maintaining existing relationships
• Representing the company in key negotiations
• Playing a role in managing and monitoring staff and finances within the office
• Overseeing the ecology team's projects and reporting to the Operations Directors
