Primary Job Responsibilities:
PayPal are looking for a Risk Management leader with responsibility to ensure profitable asset quality for our unsecured consumer lending products in the UK.  The position will have responsibility for developing, socializing and executing a collaborative vision for credit risk management for the UK and Germany, taking into consideration cultural attitudes towards credit, the economic & regulatory environment, competitive landscape, profitability targets, available data sources and sustainable long-term asset quality.

Role Expectations

The successful candidate will influence and leverage expertise across a global financial organization including technology, operations, marketing, finance, legal, risk, etc. to drive world class risk management strategies throughout the customer lifecycle. Innovation is expected as PayPal offers state of the art technologies, and extensive on-us financial, customer and third party data availability. The candidate will need to be able to communicate a vision in the boardroom, while also having the ability to ensure sound execution of the details. Proven experience in UK or Germany credit risk management is a must, along with in-depth market knowledge of credit performance, data providers, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will manage a small 1-4 member(s) team with expertise in credit policy.

 

Education Required

BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related degree preferred, MBA a plus.

 

Experience, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Proven consumer credit risk management experience
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills a must including the ability to explain and/or present complex, strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence, work collaboratively, build and maintain relationships throughout the organization
  • Must have good judgment with the demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Aptitude, willingness to roll-up the sleeves and get involved in the details.
