As Sky grows, we're seeking a talented Ruby Developer to enable the rapid delivery of high quality, customer focused services to meet and exceed customer experience and usability requirements.

Who you'll be working with

Based in Leeds, our Technology team is one of the largest technical hubs in the UK, it's a strategic location for our business and offers a vibrant place to live and work.

Our new teams have a real 'start up' feel and there's loads of room for development. You'll have the chance to use cutting edge tools and technologies to create rich user experiences; all whilst working in an Agile environment.

As part of the Online Service Technology team you'll work to deliver and support the online services that encourage online customer management and self-help.

Your key responsibilities

• You will interpret business requirements and deliver high quality, customer focused technical solutions and implementations meeting and exceeding customer experience and usability requirements.
• You will deliver rich internet applications (RIA), in an agile environment primarily using open source technologies and the best deployment techniques.
• Working in an agile and team driven approach.

Your skills

• Prior experience with XP principles such as pair programming, CI, and TDD,
• Designing and developing commercial web sites using technologies like Ruby, JavaScript and Java
• Exposure or appreciation of agile development practices with a wiliness to be a proactive participant in the agile process
• Experience of OO development and design patterns
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
