Deputy Head of the Graduate Admissions Office
The Graduate Admissions Office co-ordinates applications for admission to graduate courses and, acting on behalf of the Board of Graduate Studies, makes formal offers of admission and confirms places for students who meet all the requirements for admission.
The post holder is to support the Head of Graduate Admissions in leading the Graduate Admissions Office ensuring the efficient operation of admissions procedures and systems including the new fully electronic admissions process. Responsibilities will include direct line management of 8 staff members; allocating work to staff members; reviewing and organising resources and working processes; graduate offer making; immigration procedure administration; maintaining comprehensive up to date documentation on procedures for external and internal audiences; providing advice to and answering enquiries from those who have made an application, potential applicants, and internal staff in University Faculties, Departments, Degree Committees and Colleges.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a good understanding of the Higher Education System and the issues affecting Graduate Study, to include student fee and funding arrangements, visa compliance and other legal matters. You must also be an innovative and proactive manager of policies, people and resources with experience of managing, motivating and developing staff.
