As Sky grows, we are seeking a talented Delivery Manager to manage software delivery at Sky, ensuring the consistent on-time delivery of high quality software applications and the ongoing management of these systems in production.
The Delivery Manager will report to and provide advice and support to the Head of Technology.
As Delivery Manager:
· You have a deep knowledge of, and passion in managing multiple delivery squads and teams within the respective Tribe whilst developing/maintaining an achievable delivery roadmap
· You are experienced in co-ordinating the estimation of new project requests into the teams with the Head of Technology and Product Owner(s)
· You will be at ease with educating business stakeholders on the benefits of agile delivery and influencing their behaviour to support this delivery method.
· You're experienced in providing deep dive Agile coaching and process improvements within the squads, supporting the Scrum Masters in optimising delivery and advising on mitigation strategies
· Tracking the financial forecasts/actuals for the Tribe deliverables, you're proactive in ensuring the effective utilisation of team members
· Ensuring the Tribe has mitigation and recovery plans in place for risks and issues, taking responsibility for incident management as a point of escalation.
· You're a people person, experienced in building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders
· Supporting the Head of Technology in shaping the strategic direction of the Tribe providing feedback on any constraints and opportunities
· You'll collaborate with Delivery Managers and the Head of Delivery to share best practices around the organisation on Agile delivery
To be successful in this role you'll have a large number of these qualities:
· Software delivery experience; The ability to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently.
· A driven and enthusiastic outlook, you will be proactive in identifying areas you can add value to
· Strong track record of delivering results consistently: ability to plan and organise self and a team in order to achieve stretched objectives and targets.
· Proven capability in managing team dynamics, building team relationships, mentoring team members and delivering feedback.
· Experience in release planning, estimation, capacity planning and managing delivery risks in a multi Scrum environment.
· Management experience of full life-cycle system development with teams of developers, analysts, and testers/QAs.
· A good understanding of Sky's products and services and an awareness and appreciation of current development tools and their usage.
· Experience with Extreme Programming , Scrum and other agile techniques, certified Scrum Master credentials are a plus
· Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills.
