We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager/ Project Manager to join our team here at the EMEA Head Office in Hammersmith on a 12 month fixed term basis.  Immediate start preferred.

Aims of the job:

  • Facilitate, make sure that Agile processes are being followed, and support the product owner and the team.
  • Guide and help the team in solving issues and blockers. Steer the development through these issues, resolve any problems that are blocking the development, and involve those with the needed skills and experience.
  • Facilitate changes by helping the product owner describe them, understand their impact on the product, communicate them to the team, and prioritize them in the backlog.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Essential Duties
    • Strongly serving and supporting the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers
    • Guiding and Coaching the Scrum Team on how to use Agile/Scrum best practices and to get the most out of self-organization
    • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
    • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
    • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
    • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and managing the product backlog.
    • Quality gating and control of all deliverables
    • Ensuring smooth transition to post go live Hyper care and Help desk support
 
  • Scope and objectives
    • Ensure stories and objectives are well documented and signed off
    • Assist BRMs with the definition of PARs
 
  • Cost/budget
    • Ensure budget is agreed and signed off
    • Ensure appropriate procedures are in place to track costs
    • Track and Review costs
    • Escalate cost issues in accordance with the project’s escalation procedures
    • Ensure transparency by publishing cost reports in accordance with the schedule of key project meetings
 
  • Time/planning
    • Ensure all activities are planned with appropriate milestones for tracking
    • Ensure transparency by publishing progress reports in accordance with the schedule of key project meetings
 

Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • Extensive experience of managing globally distributed, cross-functional project teams
  • Expertise at managing suppliers of outsourced/offshored services
  • First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM )
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team
  • Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the gaps in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  • The ability to distinguish between what "is Scrum" what is "not Scrum"
  • Extremely strong interpersonal skills for liaison across all levels of the business (to EVP level)
  • Superb communication skills, written and oral
  • Evidenced ability to influence and negotiate
