The Data Centre Migration Programme Manager is responsible for leading a project team in delivering the DCM solution to the customer using the appropriate business measurements and terms and conditions for the project according to the project charter, project agreement or contract. They have overall performance responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management. They are responsible for managing the overall programme, all project resources, including subcontractors, and for establishing an effective communication plan with the project team and the customer. They provide day to day direction to the project team and regular programme status to the customer .
The successful candidate should have skills experience in some of these areas:
Strong experience of DCM Programme Management.
A background in DCM or Infrastructure Project Management, having successfully delivered projects in a client environment.
Familiarisation with, and project / programme experience of, the phases of a Data Centre Migration.
Expertise in effectively managing projects and programmes through the use of tools and templates for planning, risk/issue management, implementation planning and scope management.
Experience of robust management of scope change, change requests and financial budgeting and reporting at a project and programme level.
Demonstration of a holistic understanding of Data Centre Operations (mainframe, server, storage network, DB, Systems Management etc)
Stakeholder management - including client, 3rd parties and internal stakeholders, often at a senior level.
Team management - the ability to lead large teams in a complex, matrix management organisation structure.
