‘The UK’s largest electricity network is looking for a communications officer to join its busy external communications team.  Based in our Head Office with specific responsibility for our communications strategy in London, we are seeking an energetic, go-getting and confident communications officer who has experience planning and delivering media campaigns that will shape and influence our media profile’

Job purpose:

The Communications Officer is responsible for managing UK Power Networks reputation with London’s media and building awareness of our work with key journalists and media contacts in the Capital.

The breadth and importance of our activities generates significant media interest in what we do and ensures that no two days are ever the same.

Serving our customers and keeping the public and our staff safe are at the heart of everything we do and it will be your job to bring that focus to life.

Principal accountabilities:

• Experienced in developing trusted relationships with key journalists and influencers
• Able to engage with all areas of our business to identify the initiatives that will build awareness of the great work we do
• Proactively generate coverage through media and social media, and secure engaging broadcast interviews
• Prepare statements and respond to urgent enquiries
• Support and guide staff and senior management on publicity opportunities
• Management of media partnership programme
