The retail business at Disney is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that works directly with our retail partners across the country, from high street superstores to online retailers, as well as our own portfolio of magical Disney Stores across the country. The team covers sales, logistics, merchandising and marketing across a range of exciting family-focused products from the Walt Disney portfolio, from DVDs to toys, food and apparel.

We are now seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team based in on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Welwyn Garden City, with weekly travel to Hammersmith.

Aims of the Job:

As the Commercial Manager you will work alongside the Senior Manager on Tesco account taking responsibility for supporting three key categories within Disney –Toys & Nursery, Licensing and Hardlines category management, with the overall aim of translating Disney’s One Voice strategy into a relevant retail plan for specific categories within The Business Development Channel.

This will involve targeting set accounts and delivering the sales targets, as set by the category leads, and as defined by the corporate fiscal plan.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Devising, communicating and agreeing strategy for the Customer, consistent with the overall One Voice strategy.
  • Managing communication with account on Joint Business Plan, defining and managing investment priorities across relevant categories.
  • Making recommendations for exploring new business opportunities with the Customer.
  • Reviewing progress regularly against strategic goals with Customer and internally.
  • Working with the Senior Manager / Business Unit Director to develop a 12 month rolling account plan, to include targets for revenue, margin %, profit, growth, franchise, range, display, operational & administration improvements, co-op investments, and return on investment.
  • Working with Customer contacts, Retail & Licensee Marketing, Supply Chain, category leads, retail analytics and other key stakeholders, to implement agreed plans.
  • Conducting regular status meetings and reviews on joint business plans – targeting areas of growth.
  • P & L Responsibility including the development and execution of the P & L and Budgets for designated account group and categories.
  • Budget management and development.
  • Ensuring targets are met as a minimum with a plan to over-achieve.
  • Ensuring trade spend is managed through Siebel, and deals are entered in the system accurately, on time.
  • Regular use of micro-strategy system, for sales reports and ROI analysis.
  • Leading account forecasting process for defined account.
 
About you:

Suitable candidates will offer the following skills and experience:
  • Degree educated (preferred)
  • Experience in managing a major Customer in a commercial function with direct P&L responsibility essential.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience in Entertainment Industries (Toys, Music, Video)
  • Experience of setting up senior Customer relationships preferred.
  • Experience of developing and delivering account plan preferred.
  • Experience of working in multi-level matrix relationship environment, in a multinational organisation preferred.
