About the Job:

Reporting into the Austravel General Manager, this role will assist with the day to day tasks for the Commercial team. Key responsibilities will include taking ownership of the daily commercial functions for the Austravel brand within the Specialist programme. Additionally the successful candidate will assist with the planning, pricing and revenue management of these regions. 

The successful candidate must be highly numerate, with strong organisational skills and a good attention to detail.

 

What you will be doing

  • Work with the General Manager to deliver against commercial strategies for the business overall
  • Take ownership of a the Brand, with a view to commercially managing them towards achieving volume and margin targets
  • Assist with the pricing process, including creation of margins, YOY cost analysis, generating prices for Brochures and Tactical Campaigns
  • Monitor sales / margins for all routes on a daily basis against targets providing both the Pricing managers with regular weekly trading updates
  • With guidance from General Manager, look to immediately react to any trading shortfalls, by ensuring that tactical activity is formulated as a top priority and promoted via the most effective channel for each business
  • Work closely with Marketing, Agency sales, Digital Marketing and our in house call centres to ensure offers are communicated effectively
  • Monitor rate of sale and, working closely with Destination Team & Aviation teams to ensure that additional capacity is requested where required
  • Take responsibility for monitoring the performance of a Key Airline partner
  • Take responsibility for adhoc reporting
 

What we are looking for

  • Experience working in a Commercial role ideally within the Travel industry and has yield managed a destination
  • Applicants should demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in their work, have a commercial focus, be capable of making recommendations, taking decisions and possess good analytical skills
  • Ability to manage their workload effectively, well organised, flexible, determine priorities with attention to detail, act on their own initiative as well as being a strong team player
  • Highly flexible, driven and motivated with strong communication skills as a key point of contact for internal departments
  • Ability to identify and create sales / margin opportunities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, this may involve working additional hours at peak times including weekends
  • Experience of managing and loading offers on a live website
  • Effective communicator at all levels with strong Influencing skills
  • Knowledge of Travelink (or a similar tour operations selling system), plus Microsoft Excel and Word to an Intermediate standard
  • A good understanding of Business Objects Reporting or a similar MI reporting system
