About the Job:
IBM is seeking an experienced Network Engineers to join our Cloud Networking team. You’ll be involved in working directly with strategic customer accounts, and in implementing high-performance, high-scale cloud networking solutions for them. You’ll also be working with cloud Network Architects and other product teams in order to deploy the most optimal networking solutions to ensure maximum customer success.The Cloud Network Engineer is a technical, customer-facing role having paramount impact on customers’ experience with IBM cloud solutions. As a Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Participating in overall implementation of cloud networking solutions for customers
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex network and performance issues
- Performing all aspects of network installation and configurations, including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, overlay networks, and virtual private networks
- Implementing appropriate security, and monitoring tools for cloud networks
- Focusing on continuous improvement of implementation practices and tools
- Experience in implementing large-scale networks
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-defined networks (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Openstack, and other emerging technologies
- Experience in migrating and/or extending on-premises networks to the cloud
- Experience in troubleshooting and solving networking issues
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers
- Ability to travel onsite to customer locations as necessary
